Singer and mother Sophie Ellis-Bextor, alongside pupils from Thornhill Primary School in London, launched the ‘npower Greener Schools Programme’ on Wednesday 14th November – a £20 million five year initiative designed to make UK schools more sustainable.
The Programme aims to give schools across the UK a ‘green makeover’ by providing free energy audits, implementing tailor-made energy efficiency measures to reduce their carbon footprint, and educating children on how to be greener.

The programme will also roll-out ‘Climate Cop Academies’, to train children in simple ways to save energy so they can then go on to share this knowledge with their families.
