Lohan desperate for "Ugly Betty" role

Lindsay Lohan is desperate to guest star in "Ugly Betty"- once the writers' strike is eventually settled.

The 22-year-old actress' publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik said that the "Mean Girls" star was looking forward to be part of the hit TV show.

"She's totally looking forward to it," New York Post quoted Sloane Zelnik, as saying.

Until now there is no official deal but sources have revealed that Lohan had been in talks with ABC to appear on "Betty" as a restaurant employee befriended by Betty, played by America Ferrera.

But then, unfortunately the strike hit.

Sloane Zelnik said that Lohan loves the show and she was very happy that there was interest from the show towards her.

"She loves the show," Sloane Zelnik said.

"Lindsay was flattered there was interest in her from the show. They talked character points and she loved [the character]," she added.

Lohan gets role on “Ugly Betty”

According to a source on the set of “Ugly Betty”, Lindsay Lohan has accepted the role a fallen beauty queen who takes a gig as the assistant manager of the fast food chain where Betty’s dad works.

“Everyone’s very excited,” the source said. “Of course it brings a lot of attention to the show, and it’s a great part for Lindsay.”

“It sounds really cute. Betty tries to help Lindsay’s character by getting her a job at Mode, the fashion magazine where she works on the show.”

Ironically, it was Ugly Betty star America Ferrera who was quoted last month saying Hollywood’s out-of-control young things should stop partying and “get a job.”

Posh to appear on Ugly Betty

ABC confirmed this afternoon that Victoria Beckham will appear in a cameo on Ugly Betty in the coming season. An airdate hasn't been set, but her episode will film in the fall. She'll be playing herself, and herself is a bridesmaid at the gala wedding of Willhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams) and Bradford Meade (Alan Dale). Beckham's cameo will be her first acting attempt on a U.S. TV series.
