Two months ago on March 17th, BoA released her debut English album with the aim of gaining access to mainstream American markets. The release of this album is especially pertinent given the release of Hikaru Utada 's second album approximately a month later. To give a short introduction on BoA, the singer began a very early career in Korea at the age of 13, releasing her first album in 2000. She would then spread to Japan, releasing a Japanese album the very next year. Some of her major works include "Jewel Song," "Valenti," "No. 1" and "Don't Start Now."

BoA to Target America With Debut Album

Asian pop-idol and superstar BoA will enter the North American pop market with the release of her U.S. debut album on March 17, her management company SM Entertainment announced yesterday.

The self-titled album will include the singles "Eat You Up," released last October, and "Look Who`s Talking," which premiered in December. The album will have 11 tracks.

The pop diva`s first American album features the participation of celebrated hit-maker and producer Sean Garrett, who has contributed music for Usher, Chris Brown, The Pussycat Dolls, Beyonce, Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.

The first single to be released off the album will be "I Did it for Love," which was written and composed by Sean Garrett, who also features on the track.

The album will be released in Korea, Japan, and the rest of Asia after the North American release.

Hyori set date for BoA and Jun-ki

Korean star Lee Jun-ki celebrated his 26th birthday with his fans in a party at Seoul, on April 15.

Jun-ki’s buddy Lee Hyori was invited to the party as well; and revealed a little bit of secret… that in late 2006, while she and Jun-ki were filming a commercial; Jun-ki asked her to introduce another pop star Kwon BoA to him.

Hyori did grant his wish and introduced BoA to Jun-ki; she even tried to persuade BoA to give it a try, but the 2 stars decided to become friends instead.
