Crystal Liu Yi Fei Biography

Crystal Liu Yi Fei was born in Beijing but spent her childhood mostly in Wuhan. Her father was a university professor while her mother a famous dancer and stage performer.

Liu Yi Fei was already modeling since 8 years old; her photos are still found on some streets in Wuhan where she spent her childhood. Yi Fei was said to be a very potential artist since she was a kid; she showed talents in singing, dancing and playing piano.

After the divorce of her birth parents, Yi Fei left China to USA with her mother at age of 10. Yi Fei only came back to China in 2002, where she was accepted into the prestigious Beijing Film Academy at the tender age of 15.

Just shortly after Yi Fei got into Beijing Film Academy in 2002, she received chances to star in a TV drama, “Story of a Noble Family” (金粉世家).

Liu Yi Fei then got her leading role as ‘Wang Yuyan’ in CCTV’s “Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils” (天龙八部), a WuXia drama based on the legendary Jin Yong same titled novel.

Crsytal’s age was a concern for most people as they were worried if she could performed to the standard at the age of 15… but Yi Fei proved to everyone that her maturity is beyond her age and her performance at the series was up to the par.

Liu Yi Fei starred in her first movie “Love of May” (五月之恋) in 2003, followed by another movie “The Love Winner” (恋爱大赢家) in 2004.

It was however Crystal’s acting in another popular TV drama, “Chinese Paladin” in 2004 that made Yi Fei a superstar in China.

Chinese Paladin or “The Legend of Fairy Sword” was adapted from a popular RPG game and both the TV drama and game were superhit in China. Yi Fei played the leading role ‘Ling Er’ and Ling-Er was used as her nickname by Chinese fans as well.

In 2005/2006, Yi Fei made her fame as international superstar as ‘Xiao Long Nu’ in CCTV’s TV drama series, Return of the Condor Heroes, another Jin Yong’s WuXia novel adopted production. ROCH is a popular hit across Asia, from China to Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and South East Asia. Liu Yi Fei is becoming a household name and one of the most popular young actresses.

Liu Yi Fei is becoming a singer too, she signed a record contract with Sony Music in August 2005 and has been learning singing and dancing in Japan and China since then. Yi Fei has released her first Japanese single “Mayonaka no Door” in July 2006 and released her debut Chinese album in September 2006.

Crystal Liu Yi Fei is currently one of the most popular artists from China, and one of the most famous Chinese celebrities in Asia. She however decided to take a break from entertainment world in early 2007 to pursue her study in USA.

So Ji-sup promotes Sony Alpha DSLR cameras

Korean actor So Ji-sup was at a promotional event at Millennium Seoul Hilton hotel to promote Sony Alpha DSLR cameras as the product spokesperson. I am using one of the Alpha models… mine is A350 while the one SJS was holding should be the high-end A900, which is probably 4-5 times more expensive than mine.

So Ji-sup is publicly known as a photography enthusiast; he often shared his photo-work on his website, but registration is required to check the photos.

Aya Hirano’s bikini blunder

A Japanese board is heated up with debates about Japanese star Aya Hirano and her seemingly upside-down bikini photo published in her 2009 calendar.

To be frank I wouldn’t have noticed the mistake if I didn’t read it from Tokyomango, it’s just a cute photo for me… ladies might have sharper sense on this kind of malfunction though…

Avex World Audition 2008

From what I understand, Avex is looking for young talents (age 7-24) for singing, acting, dancing and modelling… nationality and races are not relevant, but the applicants must be able to communicate in Japanese.

It’s walk-in audition for people living in Japan; J-ent mentioned that auditions will be held across the world including USA… but I can’t seem to find the information on the official website. As far as I know, international applicants have to send in applications by mail or via the web. Deadline is November 28, 2008.

Kim Kardashian Should Stick to Something More Fitting

At EA Sports VIP launch party Wednesday, Kim Kardashian did a remarkable job of transforming the wardrobe she stole from some fat tourist. The outfit reminds me of those blocky 3D graphics we used to have a lot in the 90s what with her parachute shorts that are overly exaggerated by her tiny little waist. On the brightside, everything else is looking hot as usual, but half of that comment stems from my fine tuned X-ray vision.

Seeing Ziyi Zhang featured on the September 08 issue of the Chinese Harper’s Bazaar has got me wondering… If all Asian people look the same, then why the hell don’t they look like her? I’d trade in all those pigeon toed middle aged Asian girls that look like they’re 12, just to have one of these. I’d wrap it in a protective coating of plastic, place it on my shelf and admire her for days to come.

Britney Jean Spears was born in rural Louisiana. She loved singing since childhood. She sang with the choir in her local church and even sang on national television as a Star Search contestant.

Although refused when she auditioned for "The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989 TV series) " at 8, she starred in several TV advertisements and an off broad-way play "Ruthless" when she moved to New York under the help of one of the show's producers. In the next three years, she studied at the famous Off Broadway Dance Center and at the Professional Performing Arts School. When she auditioned for a part in "Mickey Mouse" again at 11, she won a role as a "Mouseketeer."

When she moved to her hometown and returned to high school after doing the show, she led a normal teenager's life. But her pursuing a career as a singer didn't stop. Britney set off to the big apple again. She tried in vain to send out demo tapes to various labels including Sony and Mercury. Finally, Jive Records signed with her.

In late 1998, Jive released Britney's debut single "Baby one more time" which was a pop hit around the Globe. Her debut album was released a few months later in early 1999 and like the single took to the top of the album charts, which won her awards such as the 1999 MTV Europe Awards for Best Female Artist, Best Pop Artist and Best Breakthrough Artist.

At just 18, Britney released her second album "Oops! I did it again."

2001 was a banner year for her, as she cohosted the American Music Awards with LL Cool J, sang with Aerosmith, N Sync, Nelly, and Mary J. Blige at the Super Bowl, and signed a multimillion-dollar endorsement deal with Pepsi. Her third album was released, which spawned hits like "Overprotected," "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" and "Slave 4 U."

A year later she starred in the movie "Crossroads" and also appeared as host and performer on "Saturday Night Live. "

After her public breakup with Justin Timberlake in 2002, the once-chaste Spears began showing up in tabloids and entertainment news shows due to her heavy partying and rebellious lifestyle.

On Sept. 18, 2004, Britney married her former backup dancer, Kevin Federline. They have two babies but

divorced in late 2006.

Amy Winehouse Pulls Out of French Festival

Within hours of her latest performance at the Rock in Seine festival in France, Amy Winehouse cancels claiming that she was too sick to pull her lazy ass out of bed. Not coming as a real surprise, since she canceled the same show last year, organizers might be looking for some legal action.

Her spokesman Chris Goodman told People, “It’s nothing serious. It’s just a normal illness—she hasn’t visited a hospital or anything like that. She’s at home in bed, just unable to sing.”

Yeah, we know the deal, she was probably too busy snorting her weight in fairy dust to care to make it to that silly show. But you have to admit they should have saw that coming, or at least knew that if she did show up, she was going to use her projectile vomit super powers to forecast light showers for everyone in the front row.
