Apparently High Street retailers and celebrities think that the thigh’s the limit this season.

But a whopping 62 percent of women dread revealing their not-so-thin thighs, and 67 percent of ladies will steer clear of this season’s fashion because of lack of confidence dressing for their leg shape, according to the Gillette Venus’ Thigh High Survey.

But for those of us lacking confidence this summer, The Sun reports that Hannah Sandling (Celeb stylist and Gillette Venus’ fashion expert) has some very helpful tips - including:

For short Sexy Legs – such as Kylie Minogue


Do’s: ‘If you’re well toned and have a healthy golden glow, micro skirts will elongate your legs,’ Sandling says. ‘But you can also wear this season’s huge wedges to give you an even more streamlined look and your calves great definition.’

Don’t: ‘Wear knee-length city shorts with flat shoes as that will make your legs look short,’ Sandling stresses.

For Long Sexy Legs – such as Cameron Diaz

Do’s: ‘Wear shorts and skirts with a sporty edge – like 50’s style shorts or sharply shaped boxy skirts,’ Sandling advises. ‘If your legs are twig thin and you want them to look more curvaceous, choose horizontal stripes to add shape. And don’t forget that you are bodily blessed and can wear flats or high heels because your legs will look like they go on forever, whatever you wear.’

Don’t: ‘Never wear puffed, micro mini skirts if you have skinny legs as that will make them look very thin,’ Sandling says.

Cameron Michelle Diaz (born August 30, 1972) is an American actress and former model. She broke out in the 1990s with her roles in the blockbuster films The Mask, My Best Friend's Wedding, and There's Something About Mary. Her other notable film credits include Charlie's Angels, Vanilla Sky, Gangs of New York, and voicing Princess Fiona in the Shrek film series. Diaz has received Golden Globe nominations for her performances in There's Something About Mary, Being John Malkovich, Vanilla Sky, and Gangs of New York.

Modeling

At 16, she began her career as a fashion model. Diaz signed with top modeling agency Elite Model Management. For the next few years, her modeling took her around the world, working for contracts with major companies. She modeled for designers such as Calvin Klein and Levi's. When she was seventeen she was featured on the cover of the July 1990 issue of Seventeen magazine.

Acting

At 21, Diaz auditioned for The Mask, even though she had no previous acting experience, based on the recommendation of an agent for Elite who met the film's producers while they were searching for the female lead. After obtaining the lead female role, she immediately started acting lessons. The Mask became one of the top ten highest grossing films of 1994, and earned Diaz nominations for several awards.

Over the next three years, she took roles in low-budget independent films, such as The Last Supper (1995), Feeling Minnesota (1996), She's the One (1996), Keys to Tulsa (1996), and A Life Less Ordinary (1997), preferring to feel her way effectively into the business.

Her next films were In Her Shoes (2005), and The Holiday (2006). She was set to team up again with The Mask co-star Jim Carrey in the film Fun with Dick and Jane, but dropped out to star in In Her Shoes. Diaz reportedly earned $50 million in the period of a year ending June 2008, for her roles in What Happens in Vegas opposite Ashton Kutcher, and the Shrek sequels. In 2009 she starred in the films My Sister's Keeper and The Box.

In 2010, Diaz again voiced Princess Fiona in Shrek Forever After, and reunited with her Vanilla Sky costar Tom Cruise in the action/comedy Knight and Day.

Bruce Willis gets His Butt Kicked by a Woman in Die Hard 4.0

Bruce Willis (52 years old) - playing New York police officer, John McClan, who fights with Sexy villain Mai (played by Maggie Q) in Die Hard 4.0 is quoted as saying that the explosive fight scene with Maggie Q is one of his favourites.

He said:

“The stuff that I do with Maggie is just bananas. First of all I have never fought a woman in a film before. Second, I have never got my ass kicked by a woman in a film before.

“Third, I don’t hit women in real life, never have, never will, but Maggie bought believability to it.

“It’s one of my favourite scenes of the film.”

Maggie Q, 28, revealed Bruce encouraged her to hit him even harder.

She said:

“A hero and a tough guy like Bruce is I imagined he would be like ‘I don’t want a chick kicking my ass’, but he was really into it. And that was really cool.

“When someone you are supposed to be hurting is saying ‘yeah, good, more’, the tougher you look and the better it will sell.”

Paris released from prison

Paris Hilton was released from prison early Tuesday morning after serving 23 days of her 45 day sentence. She is scheduled to give her first interview to CNN’s Larry King on Wednesday.

While in prison, she told Barbara Walters that she is a changed person.

“I used to act dumb. It was an act. I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute.”

“It is not who I am, nor do I want to be that person for the young girls who looked up to me. Now, I would like to make a difference. … God has given me this new chance.“

We’ll see.

Matsushima Nanako in jobless crisis?

Some recent reports suggested that Japanese actress Matsushima Nanako is in a jobless crisis.

Nanako was once the most popular Japanese actress before going into pregnancy hiatus. Her popularity dropped rapidly since then… and her drama’s ratings since her comeback were very disappointing by her standard.

Another problem is that despite her fading popularity, Nanako is one of the highest paid Japanese actresses… unless she is willing to cut her pay, she will face tough challenge to attract producers for her next drama or movie.

It’s a pity if Nanako is ‘forced’ to retire this way, she is an excellent actress.
