Troubled singer Fantasia Barrino has stunned fans by confessing she aborted her married lover’s baby before attempting suicide in August.

The former American Idol winner survived a drug overdose and shocked fans by revealing the scare wasn’t an accident – she meant to take her own life.

And now, the R&B star has revealed she aborted boyfriend Antwaun Cook’s baby in the weeks leading up to her suicide.

Barrino was in court in North Carolina on Monday facing charges from Cook’s wife Paula that she was responsible for the breakdown of her marriage.

The singer testified that not only did she know Cook was married when she started dating him, but that she aborted their child.
Barrino had previously denied knowledge of Cook’s marital status.

Paula Cook is suing both her estranged husband and his lover, alleging the pair engaged in a year-long affair, which ended her marriage. Cook is reportedly considering suing Barrino by the Alienation of Affection law, which is only recognised in North Carolina and six other states. The law allows for an abandoned spouse to sue the party responsible for the failed marriage.

Oscar winner Hollywood star Julia Roberts (Pretty Woman), the recent convert to Hinduism, says "Diwali should be celebrated unanimously throughout the world as a gesture of goodwill".

In her "Diwali wishes", published on the website of India's leading English daily The Times of India dated November 3rd, Roberts adds that essence of both Christmas and Diwali is the same as both "are festivals of lights, good spirits and death of evil".

Roberts further points out that Diwali (Hindu festival which falls on November 5th) "not only belongs to Hinduism but is universal in nature and in its essence too. Diwali ignites the values of self confidence, love for humanity, peace, prosperity and above all eternity which goes beyond all mortal factors… When I think of Diwali, I can never imagine a world broken into fragments by narrow feelings of communalism and religion which does not care for human benevolence."

"Ever since I developed my liking and fondness for Hinduism, I have been attracted and deeply fascinated by many facets of the multi dimensional Hinduism… spirituality in it transcends many barriers of mere religion", Roberts stated. Talking of India, she promised "to return to this sacred land again and again for the best of creativity".

Welcoming Roberts for attempting to fathom the depths of Hinduism and pointing to its universality, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, said that Hinduism had a universal appeal which was very practical. It offered something to every seeker of every path and disposition.

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, suggested Roberts to achieve the "state of permanent joy" through various techniques mentioned in ancient Hindu scriptures. She should realize the Self and practice regular mediation as right meditation would result in intense inner wakefulness. Taittiriya Upanishad told us that "meditation is Brahman (the supreme Godhead)" and directed us to seek Brahman through meditation. If Roberts needed any help in deeper Hinduism exploration, he or other Hindu scholars would be glad to assist, Zed added.

Pregnant Mariah Carey has opened up about her miscarriage heartache after losing her first baby two years ago.

The singer and husband Nick Cannon ended months of speculation by confirming they are currently expecting a child on Thursday.
But as they revealed in the joy, they also spoke candidly about the 'dark' time they endured in 2008.

Mariah, 40, and Nick, 30, revealed they were set to fly out to meet family and friends at in Aspen, Colorado when a last-minute doctors appointment left them devastated.

In a preview of Mariah's Access Hollywood three-part interview due to air this week, Cannon says:'Literally, the day we were supposed to travel to Aspen we had an ultrasound

'Unfortunately that was a time where [the doctor] said, "I'm sorry but the pregnancy is unsuccessful".'

The actor says his wife managed a brave face in front of friends and family.

Nick says: 'Even though it was emotional for both of us, that's when I really saw the strength in this woman right here. She just handled it so well.

'And then to get on a plane and have to spend Christmas with friends and family, and no one knew. I felt like everybody was kind of speculating.
'Literally, in a magazine, it said, "They're gonna let everyone know during the holiday".'

'She was so festive and smiling, obviously for the cameras, and spending time with everyone – and then, literally, at night, [she was] crying herself to sleep.'

Meanwhile, Mariah says the heartache brought them closer together.

Taylor Swift’s new song, ‘Dear John’, which features on her upcoming album, ‘Speak Now’, was written about the singer-songwriter John Mayer, according to a Yahoo music columnist who reviewed the album. The song reportedly confirms that the couple had a relationship which turned sour.

During his review of the record, music writer Chris Willman analyses the chorus of ‘Dear John’, and concludes that the track is referring directly to 33-year-old Mayer in the lyric, “Dear John, I see it all now that you’re gone, Don’t you think I was too young, to be messed with, the girl in the dress, cried the whole way home, I should’ve known”, and it is suggested that the song mentions the age difference between the two in the line, “It was wrong, don’t you think nineteen’s too young, to be played, by your dark, twisted games, when I loved you so”.

In an interview with Willman himself, Swift spoke about the inspiration behind the new tracks, saying, “They’re all made very clear. Lindsay Lohan is trying to shorten the terms of her probation

The troubled star’s legal team want the length of the court-ordered terms – which are presently scheduled to run until August 2011 – lessened, as they fear she will “get in trouble” before the period ends.

Lindsay is presently in the Betty Ford rehab centre in Los Angeles, following two spells in prison this summer; serving 13 days of a 90-day jail term in July before briefly being returned in September after failing drug tests, although she was released hours later on $300,000 bail.

A source explained to RadarOnline.com: “The longer Lindsay stays on probation, the increased chances that she will get in trouble because of problems staying compliant with the terms of her probation.

“The only person that can modify terms of Lindsay’s probation, or terminate it early, is Judge Elden Fox.”

‘Machete’ actress Lindsay could again face a return to prison, as she is due in court on October 22 for a probation hearing, after her failed drug tests, which could see her incarcerated again for violating the terms of her probation for a 2007 driving under the influence conviction.

Friends of the star have said she isn’t worried by this prospect, however, and is prepared to return to jail.

One pal said: “The fact is jail doesn’t scare Lindsay. Before she did her time earlier this summer, she was petrified. Having spent time behind bars, it doesn’t have that effect on her. Jail isn’t a deterrent for her, period.”

Judge Bruno Tonioli said he hated the dance and thought it was "probably the worst" in the show's 11 seasons.

"Other than that, it was a phenomenal experience up 'til now," the 57-year-old singer said.

Tuesday's episode also aimed to prove that it was the judges, not audience member Sarah Palin, targeted with boos during Monday's show.

Palin had a front-row seat in the ballroom to watch her daughter Bristol perform, and just before host Tom Bergeron sat down to do a brief on-air interview with the former vice-presidential candidate, emphatic boos were heard off camera. Several media outlets and numerous "Dancing" fans online reported that the disapproval was directed at Palin.

Producers contended that the boos were in response to the score of three eights the judges had given to first-place couple Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough. Ten is the highest score judges can give.

Chatting with Grey and Hough on Tuesday, co-host Brooke Burke introduced a clip from Monday's episode that showed the judges bantering with the audience and defending their scores as the crowd booed. Then Bergeron introduced Palin.

"It seems to me, based on that footage, that the audience was booing because they thought you deserved higher scores," Burke said.

Hough and Grey said they were pleased with their scores. Palin was also in the audience Tuesday.

Looks Like Lindsay Lohan Will Get Bail After All

A judge cleared the way for Lindsay Lohan's release from jail on $300,000 bail after the actress challenged a ruling earlier in the day that would have kept her in jail for nearly a month.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg set the amount Friday evening. Schnegg imposed several restrictions on Lohan's release, including that she must wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet.

The monitor must be in place within 24 hours of her release.

It is unclear when Lohan could be released.

As conditions of bail, Lohan is also prohibited from possessing any controlled substances, must refrain from drinking and must stay out of places where alcohol is primarily sold.

Schnegg's ruling came after Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, filed a late-afternoon appeal seeking bail for the "Mean Girls" star. Holley had been prohibited from arguing for bail during the Friday morning hearing when Judge Elden Fox ordered the starlet held until an Oct. 22 hearing.

Schnegg's ruling states that defendants are entitled to bail in misdemeanor cases, which applies to Lohan.

District Attorney's spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said prosecutors did not oppose Lohan's motion to seek bail.

Lohan was whisked from a Beverly Hills court Friday morning and was at the facility for about eight hours when the order clearing her release was issued.

Fox's decision to jail Lohan came after the "Mean Girls" star failed a court-ordered drug test after being released from rehab last month.

Lohan remains in an isolation unit of a women's jail in suburban Los Angeles, where she spent 14 days after a previous judge determined she violated the terms of her probation.

An attorney for Britney Spears' ex-husband called child abuse claims leveled at the singer by a former bodyguard baseless and motivated by money.

Fernando Flores, who worked on the singer's security detail, sued Spears on Wednesday claiming sexual harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress. His lawsuit claims Spears repeatedly exposed herself to him and that he witnessed her punish her young sons with his belt and act inappropriately in front of them.

Kevin Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told The Associated Press that Flores' accusations had been looked into before the suit was filed and warranted no action. He said Federline takes any allegations of abuse or wrongdoing regarding the former couple's children seriously.

"He is satisfied that the allegations are a product of economic motives," Kaplan said. "They are as baseless as they seem."

Federline has custody of the former couple's sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, but Spears has substantial visitation with the boys.

Kaplan said if Federline believed the children were in danger, he would have stepped in already.

He noted that Flores' lawsuit was leaked to online news outlets before the suit was filed. "I think that the timing of this and the nature of the allegations speak for themselves."

The lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages and includes several lurid allegations of Spears allegedly exposing herself to Flores.

Spears' publicist Holly Shakoor did not return e-mail messages seeking comment on the case.

The lawsuit claims that Spears, among other things, exposed herself to Flores and summoned him to her bedroom while she was naked.

The bodyguard's employment with Spears appeared to be brief – his court filings state he started working for her in February and had "exhausted his administrative remedies" with a state agency by July.

Flores also sued his former employer, Advanced Security Concepts Corp. A woman who answered the company's phone Wednesday declined to comment and refused to be identified.

Spears remains under a court-ordered conservatorship in which her personal and financial affairs are controlled by her father and an attorney, and monitored by a judge. The conservatorship has prevented Spears from being deposed or testifying during previous cases in which she was sued.

Cheryl Cole has been transferred to a specialist hospital to be treated for malaria.

The ‘Fight for This Love’ singer – who was recently struck down with the tropical disease after apparently being bitten by a mosquito while holidaying in Tanzania with close pal Derek Hough – has reportedly been admitted to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases at University College London so medical experts can deal with the illness before it gets too serious.

A source close to the star told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “She really is very poorly indeed and doctors weren’t taking any chances. Intensive care was their best option when they saw what condition she was in. She is now in the best place for her with the best experts in the field to look after her.

“Cheryl is in a real battle but she is nothing but a fighter.”

The 27-year-old pop beauty is believed to have spent three days in intensive care at London’s private Cromwell Hospital after being diagnosed with the illness on Sunday.

She was then transferred to the specialist unit and the disease is said to have “really taken a hold” on the Girls Aloud star.

A spokesman for Cheryl confirmed: “It is a lot more serious than first thought. Everyone thought she would pull through after 24 hours but there have been no signs of improvement. She is very ill and will not be out of hospital for a while. Everyone is holding their breath.

“Because of her hectic schedule, the malaria has really taken a hold. She has not got the physical strength to beat it.”

Cheryl has been forced to pull out of her role as a judge on Simon Cowell’s pop star search show ‘The X Factor’ until further notice.

Simon Monjack’s death just got a little more mysterious.

It turns out Brittany Murphy’s husband, who was found dead on May 24 just five months after his wife, had two children from previous relationships.

The 39-year-old’s secret brood was discovered after Monjack’s family went through his computer.

Monjack’s mother, brother and therapist took the screenwriter’s laptop after staying with Murphy’s mom at his house last week.

They found emails from two women asking Monjack for child support.

According to website TMZ.com, the screenwriter had a daughter by one woman and a son by another.

Murphy reportedly filed a theft report with police after discovering her son-in-law’s property had gone AWOL.

Meanwhile, Monjack’s family has passed the computer on to investigators, who are now reviewing its contents.

Monjack was found dead in the same Los Angeles home where his wife, actress Brittany Murphy, had died. He appeared to have passed away from a heart attack after delaying surgery to repair a heart condition.

Coroner’s officials won’t be releasing Monjack’s official cause of death for weeks pending toxicology reports.

Murphy died on December 20 at the age of 32 from pneumonia complicated by iron deficiency, anemia and drug intoxication.

Upon his wishes, Monjack was laid to rest next to his wife at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills.

At the home, detectives found 11 containers of the powerful anesthetic propofol, some of them empty, as well as a range of sedatives and various medical items including a box of blood pressure cuffs, according to the warrants, which were redacted and unsealed after The Associated Press filed a legal motion.

Jackson’s June 25 death at age 50 was ruled a homicide caused by an overdose of propofol and other sedatives. Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

During their search, detectives found 19 tubes of hydroquinone and 18 tubes of Benoquin, both of which are commonly used in the treatment of a skin condition Jackson had called vitiligo. The disease creates patches of de-pigmented skin, and creams can be used to lighten skin that has retained its color to give a more even appearance.

“Some people with vitiligo get to the point where there is so much of them that is pale, it makes more sense to remove the bits that are brown,” said Dr. David Sawcer, assistant professor of clinical dermatology at the University of Southern California.

Benoquin is derived from hydroquinone. Though the creams can be used at the same time, it is unusual to do so, Sawcer said. The medications typically come in travel-toothpaste-sized tubes and each treatment usually lasts a few months. Side effects include acute sensitivity to the sun.

“In the places they have no pigment, they are exactly like an albino,” Sawcer said.

The discovery of medical creams in Jackson’s home dovetails with an odd remark Murray reportedly made soon after Jackson’s death.

According to police statements obtained by the AP, Jackson’s personal assistant, Michael Amir Williams, told detectives that in the hospital where Jackson was pronounced dead, Murray told him he wanted to return to Jackson’s house “so that he could pick up some cream that Mr. Jackson has so that the world wouldn’t find out about it.”

Alberto Alvarez, Jackson’s logistics director, who was summoned to the stricken star’s side as he was dying, told police Murray interrupted CPR on the pop star to collect drug vials. He gave the vials and an IV line with a milky substance resembling propofol to Alvarez, according to the statement Alvarez gave police, and told him to put them in bags that were similar in description to those later found in the closet.

The skin cream was not listed as a factor in Jackson’s death nor was it detected in a toxicology report. What killed Jackson, according to the autopsy report, was an overdose of propofol, an anesthetic normally used for surgery. Murray gave it to Jackson to help him sleep, a use anesthesiology experts have said is grossly improper.

Dr. Zeev Kain, anesthesiology department chair at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, said he was surprised by the amount of propofol detectives found. Among the 11 containers police said they found were three 100ml vials, which Kain said could be used as general anesthesia for several hours.

“A doctor should not use propofol at home to start with,” Kain said.

The warrants also show Murray shipped propofol and other medications to his girlfriend Nicole Alvarez’s house in Santa Monica. It’s unusual to send propofol to a private residence but not illegal.

The latest high-profile figure to take part in the initiative is a little more surprising: Sen. John McCain’s wife, Cindy.

“I couldn’t be more proud of my mother for posing for the NOH8 campaign,” daughter Meghan McCain tweeted on Wednesday morning. “I think more Republicans need to start taking a stand for and civil rights in this country and set the example that this is not a partisan issue.”

Cindy McCain’s position stands in contrast to her husband’s, the former GOP presidential nominee, who opposes gay marriage.

Sen. McCain’s office issued a statement Wednesday evening affirming his own stance on gay marriage without addressing the ad campaign directly.

“Senator McCain respects the views of members of his family,” spokesperson Brooke Buchanan said. “The senator chaired the effort to successfully pass Arizona Proposition 102, the Marriage Protection Amendment, and his opposition to gay marriage remains the same. Senator McCain believes the sanctity of marriage is only defined as between one man and one woman.”

A theater actress was hospitalized due to a nervous breakdown Tuesday after a man tried to record images of her naked body with a hidden camcorder several days earlier.

According to the stage production company Cham, a 50-year-old unidentified man was caught while trying to record actress Choi Jae-kyung's naked body and sex scene during the play "The Professor and The Female Student" on Dec. 15. The actress had a nervous breakdown, which led the doctors to advise her to report to the hospital.

"There might have been more cases we couldn't detect. It could lead to being a serious crime," the production company said in a press release. The director decided to replace Choi with an understudy cheerleader-turned-actress Lee Tam-mi.

"The Professor and The Female Student" is about a 45-year-old university lecturer discovering his power through sexual intercourse with his female student. T-Ara: 'We Want to Be Popular Like the Wonder Girls'

Girl groups are the latest rage in the K-pop scene. One of the popular girl bands is the six-member group T-Ara, which debuted in July with the song "Lie." The group consists of Ji-yeon, Eun-jung, Hyo-min, Bo-ram, Kyu-ri and So-yeon. Three of T-Ara's singles, including "TTL (Time To Love)" and "TTL Listen 2," became huge hits on the Internet.

We met with T-Ara, which has recently released its first studio album entitled "Absolute First Album." Its title track, "Like The First Time," is a retro dance song that was written by Bang Shi-hyuk. But T-Ara is active these days with the trendy dance song "Bo Peep Bo Peep," which was written by Shinsadong Horangi. T-Ara is poised to promote its album by performing two songs and filming music videos for four songs from the album.

On the question how they can survive amid the fierce competition among girl groups, Eun-jung said, "Our song 'TTL' topped 8 music sites, but it fell short of our expectations. Our song became popular but our members are still unknown." Hyo-min added that she was happy that T-Ara had its own music style but sad that the unique individuality of each member hadn't been expressed fully and that the group hadn't received the Best New Artist award.

"Each idol girl group wants to be the best. They all want to be loved as much as the Wonder Girls and Girls' Generation ," said So-yeon.

On the question how they were different from other girl groups, the T-Ara members cited music. "The music of idol groups is too trendy and new to senior people. But our songs are sentimental and easy to listen to. Although our album also contains trendy songs, like 'Bo Peep Bo Peep,' it also contains songs that even older people like, such as 'Like The First Time', 'Apple Is' and 'You You You,'" said So-yeon.

On the rising popularity of their music, the T-Ara members have also been active solo these days. Kyu-ri acts in the TV drama "Queen Seondeok," while So-yeon appears as a supporter on the variety show "The Invincible Baseball Team." Ji-yeon has been cast to appear in the TV drama "God of Studying." Hyo-min is appearing on a variety show and will perform in the musical "Really Like You" next year. Hyo-min said, "Everything I do on my variety show receives a lukewarm response. But I seem to be getting the hang of it. Sunny of Girls' Generation is very good at going with the flow and she does it without embarrassing herself. Narsha is also very determined."

Kyu-ri said, laughing, that her line from the epic drama became very popular among her fans.

The T-Ara member Bo-ram is the daughter of Chun Young-rok and Lee Mi-young. Her fellow group members say that she is very popular among older people because she had won a contest among girl groups on a Chuseok show and is the daughter of famous parents. Bo-ram said, "I met my Dad at an event recently. He told me not to give up and do my best. He has been watching me."

It has only been five months since T-Ara's debut. We asked the members about their impressions of K-pop. Bo-ram said, "I'm short for a singer, so I have to do my best to catch the eye. My parents also told me that I have to work hard to survive. After my debut, I realized how hard it must have been for my parents. I want to be popular for a long time, like my parents."

Ji-yeon, Hyo-min and Eun-jung said they realized how cold-hearted and scary the K-pop scene was. They said, "It's very competitive. Han Ye-seul Meets With 'Twilight' Producer

Top South Korean actress Han Ye-seul was belatedly known to have met with Hollywood producer Mark Morgan of "The Twilight Saga" series during his recent visit to Korea.

"The two met in Seoul and it is our understanding that Morgan did not meet with any other actresses during his visit," an official at Han's agency SidusHQ said on Tuesday.

The official refrained from answering whether there is a chance the actress could make an appearance in the next "Twilight" series but gave a positive response when asked if the issue could be regarded in a positive light. Korean girl band Wonder Girls will be collaborating with famed producer Dave Stewart for their U.S. debut album, according to the producer's official twitter page.

On Saturday, Stewart posted on his twitter page a photograph he took with the Wonder Girls and revealed a demo of their single "Always Without Me", which will be included in the group's debut album.

"Dave Stewart will be participating on the Wonder Girls' debut album in the U.S., which will be released early next year," an official at agency JYP Entertainment was quoted as saying. "'Always Without Me' is one of the three songs that he produced for Wonder Girls."

The official quoted the members of the girl band saying that they were honored and excited to work with such a famous producer.

Stewart, an English musician, is best known as the member and producer of popular 1980s band Eurythmics. Some of his well-known hits are "Sweet Dreams(Are Made of This)", "Here Comes the Rain Again" and "Would I Lie to You?" He also produced albums for other successful artists, such as Aretha Franklin's "Whos Zoomin' Who" and Tom Petty's "Southern Accents".

Wonder Girls, who debuted in Korea in 2007, is one of the most successful pop groups in Korea with three consecutive No. 1 singles, "Tell Me", "So Hot", and "Nobody". Knockout party girl Rachel Uchitel took some hard shots Saturday from the National Enquirer.

The tabloid, answering her denial of a romance with golfing god Tiger Woods, released photos of Uchitel partying with pal Ashley Samson – who detailed the alleged affair to the Enquirer.

The pictures show the barely dressed duo striking lascivious poses on a recent vacation they took to Spain, the Enquirer said.

On Friday, Uchitel told the Daily News she didn’t know Samson – even misstating her last name.

“I’m not friends with Ashley Simpson or whatever her name is,” Uchitel told The News in a Facebook message. She did not answer messages Saturday about their relationship – and hired well-known attorney Gloria Allred.

The Enquirer promised to expose “a slew of contradictions” between Uchitel’s denials and their report. Allred said her client would have no comment on anything involving Woods.

The Enquirer lashed out as a club source told the Daily News Uchitel was spotted rubbing shoulders with Woods at the Griffin Club in the Meatpacking District in June.

“She was acting as a hostess, showing him to a private booth near the DJ booth,” the source said, noting that the pair didn’t appear to be flirting.

Her public saga began when husband-to-be James Andrew O’Grady went missing in the rubble of the World Trade Center.

The 32-year-old managing director at Sandler O’Neil was in the south tower when the second hijacked plane hit.

Her picture ran along with several news accounts, showing her at Ground Zero in the days after the attack.

Uchitel, a Bloomberg television producer at the time, was officially notified of O’Grady’s death in early 2002.

“I was very strong after the night of 9/11,” she told The New York Times in December 2004. But two years later, she suffered a “massive breakdown.”

“I couldn’t get through the day,” she told The Times. Uchitel took a leave from her job in 2003 and sought therapy.

That same year she met Wall Street trader Steven Ehrenkranz, a childhood friend, at a Halloween party. The two hadn’t seen each other since the mid-1990s.

They were soon dating – and married in 2004 in front of 270 people, a fairy-tale wedding at Cipriani in the Flatiron District.

Their dream life ended quickly.

Just four months later, the bombshell sought a divorce and headed for Vegas. “A random career move and a life-changing experience,” she told the Web site blackbookmag.com.

When reached at his Manhattan home, Ehrenkranz said he had no idea if his ex-wife was involved with Woods, a fiery claim reported in the Star and the National Enquirer.

“I couldn’t know, and I couldn’t care,” he said. “The person you’re talking about, I haven’t seen in five years.”

A guest who attended their nuptials said Uchitel had a “history of being with married men” and called her “self-destructive.”

Once in Las Vegas, Uchitel fell into the arms of another man she had known since childhood: powerful nightclub owner Jason Strauss.

She worked there through 2006, manning Tao’s VIP door with a walkie-talkie as guests tried to win her approval and doormen followed her every command.

She became the VIP hostess at Tao, a hot nightspot co-owned by Strauss.

The often-scantily clad Uchitel quickly forged a reputation for her ability to lure A-listers to the club.

“She’s always popping out of her blouse,” a source said. “But she’s very good at bringing in VIPs to clubs. She’s efficient, articulate and nice to hang out with.”

Uchitel returned to New York, where she ran VIP operations for clubs like Marquee and Dune. Last year, she began splitting time between the city and the Hamptons, where she worked at the club Pink Elephant.
